As a kratom enthusiast, have you ever wondered if there was a method for getting more effects from your kratom? I’m not talking about using a potentiator. What I’m talking about is a way to use kratom based on actually changing your favorite kratom strain from its original state to a more potent one.

Red bubble kratom has received a lot of attention from in the kratom community because it can help you get more out of every dollar spent. The name comes from the formation of a red bubble that occurs at the surface of the mixture when you freeze kratom and water.

What’s the purpose of this? It’s all about efficiency. Regular kratom has a lot of alkaloids present, but your body has to work hard to process all of them. In fact, the human digestive system doesn’t even get the chance to make use of all the alkaloids before they are eliminated.

When it’s all said and done, kratom users only get to use a fraction of the total alkaloids consumed when taking the leaf traditionally. What if we could get a greater concentration of alkaloids without adding anything synthetic or changing the way we consume kratom?

To do so, we need a kratom extract of sorts, preferably something easily done with what’s already probably in your kitchen. The red bubble technique is a way to take your kratom experience to new heights.

The Science Behind the Red Bubble Technique

The benefits of kratom are provided by plant chemicals called alkaloids. There have been over 50 alkaloids identified so far in the kratom plant, all with a wide range of effects.

Two of the most well-known are mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, which are both opioid receptor agonists. Others include speciociliatine, corynantheidine, 9-hydroxycorynantheidine, paynantheine, speciogynine, speciofoline, and stipulatine, among many others.

When following this process, mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine are essentially “released” from the plant matter they come from making them more bioavailable. In simpler terms, they aid the absorption of kratom. When you freeze kratom tea, its plant cells become swollen and burst causing alkaloids to become extremely easy for the body to process

The result is a much higher concentration of desired kratom alkaloids than one would get by simply swallowing powder or capsules, plus your body gets to make use of a greater percentage of it, which is always a plus since kratom can become expensive. For the same amount of money, you can make your kratom more potent. On top of that, you get to reduce the amount of inert plant material consumed.

Red Bubble Method Requirements

  • Some sort of a freezer-proof container that can withstand hours of freezing. It’s easier to see when it’s done if you choose something clear.
  • Lemon juice, lime juice, apple cider vinegar, or straight citric acid
  • Water that’s just under its boiling point
  • Ground kratom leaf powder

How to Make Red Bubble Kratom Tea

Lemon Juice For Extraction\

  1. Measure out a dose, or multiple doses, of your favorite kratom and put it into your container. The amount of kratom you begin with will dictate the needed capacity.
  2. Add and mix in your lime juice or whatever option you went with until the consistency reaches that of pancake batter. If you have straight citric acid powder, you will need to add water to the kratom mixture first here.
  3. Let the kratom mixture stand for 10 minutes
  4. Bring a pot of water to just below boiling. The amount you use should be at least as much as the volume you ended up with in step two. More doesn’t hurt.
Kratom Mixed Like Pancake Batter

You can opt for microwaving the water in a water-safe cup if that’s an option for you

  1. Pour the near-boiling water into your original container
  2. Mix thoroughly and let stand for 30 minutes
  3. Place the mixture into the freezer for a few hours or so. You’ll see a red bubble begin to appear as the kratom solidifies. This is your indicator that it’s finished.
  4. Remove from the freezer and slowly heat until consumable. Placing the container in a pot of heated water on the stove works well.

Don’t Leave Alkaloids Behind

At this point, you have a choice to make. Do you strain out the kratom solids for a less gritty drink, or do you leave them in knowing that tossing them would mean leaving precious alkaloids behind? The choice comes down to your personal tolerance of the taste and consistency of kratom.

Though we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this claim, it is said that approximately 16% of the total alkaloid content remains in the powder portion after the red bubble kratom technique is performed.

Keep in mind these alkaloids are all very much primed for your body once the red bubble appears, so you are getting maximum yield out of each kratom dose with this method.

If you really want to get every last mile from your powder, you can take this a step further and potentiate the alkaloids with other products. Several items can be consumed along with kratom to cause the body to absorb more of it or for it to remain active in the body longer. For an all-natural but effective solution, read my short post on turmeric and how it helps with kratom absorption and your body as a whole.

Selecting the Right Kratom Strain (Important)

In the end, the strength of your final extract will depend on the alkaloid content of the raw materials you use from the beginning. The more alkaloids you start with, the stronger the end result will be. It won’t matter which kratom strain you use if it had been stored wrong or is old because time and exposure both reduce the amount of effective alkaloids in kratom. Unfortunately, this is the story for the majority of kratom products, whether online or at your local kratom store.

We can’t test for the levels of all alkaloids because those tests aren’t commercially available at this time, so we use mitragynine content to get a rough idea of overall strength. Depending on the strain, this number can vary wildly, but the quality kratom powder these days contains around 1.5% or so. The best quality kratom powder can even approach 2% or even more, but this has become progressively rare as the kratom industry has shifted its priorities from

Apart from safety screenings, we test all of our kratom for mitragynine content and publish the results publicly for anyone to check out before purchasing. It’s important to know that you’re getting what you’re paying for.

Green kratom is typically the highest in mitragynine, and ours contain no less than 1.5%. Red vein varieties tend to be lower due to oxidation and usually hang somewhere around 1%. With a red strain, users often claim that it’s one or more of the other 50+ alkaloids so far found in the leaf that makes the kratom work the way it does.

Notes on Using the Red Bubble Method

It is important to also mention that there are differing opinions about exactly what temperature is appropriate for steps 4 and 5 above. Many people insist it’s absolutely necessary to avoid boiling water, but the available study data show this may be a bit too conservative.

Basiliere and Kerrigan found that, at a pH level of 4.0, mitragynine underwent zero degradation after eight hours at 178 degrees F. Their chart data makes it clear that this alkaloid likely holds up for a while at boiling temperatures as well.

Worth noting is that 7-hydroxymitraynine is less stable and more prone to breaking down at varying temperatures and levels of acidity or alkalinity.

In Sum

Red bubble extraction is a great way to enhance your kratom experience. Compared to traditional ways to take kratom, the at-home kratom extraction method discussed above is more efficient and it doesn’t take much effort to accomplish. You get more out of the money you’ve spent because your body is better able to use kratom’s components. Less goes to waste. Next time you have an hour or so, try red bubble kratom and get a lot more out of your alkaloids.

Frequent Questions & Answers

How long does it take to perform the red bubble kratom method?

The whole process from start to finish can take 5-7 hours, but most of this is time spent waiting for the kratom mixture to go from boiling to frozen. In terms of actual involvement, the time investment is around 45 minutes in many cases.

Can I use any type of Kratom strain for the red bubble method?

Any strain can be used for any type of extraction, but the effectiveness of the end product relies heavily on the strength of the materials you begin with. Look for a powder made from the leaves of mature trees and get it as fresh as possible. On average, older trees contain more beneficial compounds, and alkaloid content, aroma, and taste all degrade with time.

What is the science behind red bubble kratom?

To sum it up simply, the plant cells inside the kratom leaf, like all cells, contain water. Borneo, Indonesia – where the vast majority of kratom supplied in the US comes from – is a tropical region

hat sees temperatures of around 77 °F or so on the low end for most of the year. Plants from these parts of the world aren’t particularly built to handle super cold temperatures and can become damaged internally under prolonged exposure.

When kratom is frozen, the water inside a plant cell also freezes, which triggers the formation of crystals. As these expand, they begin to cause pressure against the inside of the walls surrounding them. This can compromise the integrity of the cell.

Without structural integrity and their usual rigidity, the cell’s walls can become disrupted. When this occurs, the alkaloids inside are quickly and more easily released and become more accessible to the body. As a result, the resulting product has a greater effect with a faster onset.

Is the red bubble kratom method safe?

As long as you only use kratom powder made from unadulterated leaves sourced from a supplier that can guarantee it does not contain dangerous amounts of biological contaminants or heavy metals, you will end up with a safe product when used correctly. Following the steps listed in this article, you are only adding water and a small amount of either lemon/lime juice or another source of citric acid, and none of the chemical reactions that occur cause any compounds to turn toxic.

It’s usually advisable for beginners to start out with anywhere from 1-3 g of kratom leaf based on their individual body chemistry, while advanced users may use 8-10 g or more. Taking too much can make a person nauseous and it’s something that can only go away with time.

It’s best to be conservative when assessing your tolerance and start with a low dose to be on the safe side. After 45 minutes or so, you should be feeling the full potential of the dose you took and can then decide whether it’s a good idea to add more.
